I never could figure out why he did it… no money was on the line or anything… I guess just to do it. It was in high school, and we were at lunch in the courtyard sitting on the brick wall in front of Mrs. Sells’ classroom (for those of you that went to STJ). It was a Monday on a sunny spring day and Lucas and I were sitting together eating. I looked over at him and noticed what he was wearing… an outfit (Yes, outfit) made out of sweatsuit material with blue, orange, and white horizontal stripes with “AUBURN” printed diagonally across the chest and the same material navy blue shorts. It looked like something that no one over the age of 7 should be allowed to wear. I started laughing and teased him about it. He gave the famous goofy “Lucas laugh” back to acknowledge I was right and then promptly asked me if I dared him to wear it the rest of the week. I obviously accepted as there was no loss for me if he didn’t. The next day, I howled when I saw him walking down the hall with it on again that morning. I thought he was kidding but he had actually shown back up in the same kiddie clothes the next day. True to his word, he wore it the whole week…. and save for some girls probably, I don’t think a single other soul noticed. It became some kind of funny, stupid, little story the two of us shared and laughed about for the rest of high school. I don’t know why that sticks out…. maybe just because it was so Lucas.<\/p>\n
Lee Webb<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
One story comes to mind that I think back on sometimes at random moments even to this day.
