A Welcome from Tarlie

Lucas 1984 Lucas Key West May 2005

Lucas will be remembered forever in all of hearts and minds. He will be remembered for his crooked smile and silly giggle, his quirky sense of humor and ability to laugh at himself, his extraordinary friendliness towards people of all ages and walks of life, his endless empathy for other people, his yearning to make other people feel good about themselves, his knack for never forgetting a face, and his passion for a good time, good music and being a Southerner.

I hope that this website will be a source of comfort for us all, a place to visit when we want to think about Lucas and laugh or cry, or maybe both. It helps me to think of what Coach Johnson said at the funeral, which was that a life is not defined by a single action. Let’s help each other remember the love, fun, goofiness and caring that was part of Lucas’ life and will continue to shape ours.
