Permanent Buddy
When we first started seeing a lot of each other, we called each other permanent buddies. When we moved in together, we laughed about how permanent of buddies we had become. When we adopted Foxy & then Bear, we laughed about how many permanent buddies we had. Lucas now that you are gone, I realize just how permanent of a buddy you are. Your smile & our shared laughter, comforting friendship and unconditional love, will always be a part of me. As time goes by, I still love you as though you are here, miss you because you are gone, and pray for you as though I will see you again. Thank you for being my best friend.

Reading this post, I just started remembering many conversations with Lucas that he would talk about his family and close friends. He just had this genuine respect and pride which was so amazing. In return, he was an amazing friend. He would just be there if you needed him,never too busy. Lucas had the kindest heart that would reach out to anyone that he could. I feel so blessed to have had Lucas as a friend. I mean how many people are better because of Lucas? I know that the list must be pretty long. I know that a genuine and true friend is few and far between and most of us can count them on one hand, if that. Lucas was definitly that friend, that was the “real deal”. God has a bigger plan for Lucas that we can’t see right now, and perhaps God needs Lucas with him to help even more people from a higher and better place. Lucas’s spirit shines on though, and he will remain in our hearts till’ we meet him again.

Thanks for the pictures. I have been going through all my photos and realized I do not have very many of just me & Lucas. I think most of them were deleted every time my computer crashed over the years. My aunt found some of us before Alice’s wedding with Lucas in his tux & is going to give them to me over Thanksgiving. Thanks again, I really appreciate it.

My favorite picture of him is where he is dressed up as a woman.. It was on our table in the den in Millbrook… I will try to go get it…
